TRANSFER REVIEW, City and Liverpool Prove Class Again

TRANSFER REVIEW: City and Liverpool Prove Class Again

The January transfer window has finally come to an end, with not too much huge signings occurring.

However, it would be regarded as a huge disregard if we failed to acknowledge how brilliantly both Manchester City and Liverpool once again executed their transfer plans.

Identified targets, acquired them without much frenzy and fanfare, and without the oscillatory movement of negotiations between parties involved.

Without any further ado, let’s revisit how a couple of premier league of topsides fared during the window

TRANSFER REVIEW, City and Liverpool Prove Class Again

MANCHESTER CITY (JULIAN ALVAREZ):

In all honesty, no one saw Julian Alvarez joining Manchester City, or did you?

Reports circulating across the English media touted Manchester United as his most likely potential destination.

At some point, we had even forgotten about the transfer, thinking the Red devils had got it sealed.

Lo and behold, we were hit with a shocker when word was out on the street that, Julian Alvarez, was closing in on a move to the blue half of Manchester.

Some sources close to United feel the club was used to persuade City to hasten up his transfer.

If you’re a United fan, please, do well to share how you felt after you got the information, we will all love to hear you. Moving straight to Jurgen Klopp’s Merseyside Reds.

LIVERPOOL (LUIS DIAZ):

Just like with City, the Reds also pulled a stunt of their own when they signed Luis Diaz from FC Porto.

I bet we all thought he, Luis Diaz, was Spurs bound just like the Alvarez to United scenario.

Unfortunately, we were all wrong yet again when we saw a transfer confirmation from the ever-reliable, Fabrizio Romano, stating that Liverpool had secured his signature.

The news didn’t go down well with Spurs’ fans who had earlier seen Adama Traore make a last-minute U-turn to sign for Barcelona

CONCLUSION:

Really, it’s hard to say which is the huge determining factor for both teams’ transfer achievements:

1. Ability to evade the media or,
2. Keen focus on achieving their transfer goals.

But whichever it is, they surely planned it right.

How these signings will fare? There’s only one way to find out.

Which of these signings do you think will hit the ground running? Kindly let us know in the comment section below.
