EPL (NEWCASTLE UNITED vs MANCHESTER CITY)
The Magpies will host the Cityzens at St James’ Park in 1 of the fixtures scheduled to go down on Sunday.
Although both teams are currently unbeaten in the EPL, City occupy 1st position with 6 points while Newcastle are 5th with 4 points.
Furthermore, both teams are the only 2 teams yet to concede a goal this season.
The question is, “Can the Magpies keep their EPL unbeaten run intact as they take on the current league Champions?”
With the above well said, let’s consider points favoring either side.
EPL (NEWCASTLE UNITED)
Home Advantage: Our 1st point in favor of Eddie Howe’s men.
Bar their 1 nil loss to Liverpool, the Magpies have won all remaining 4 of the last 5 EPL games they played here at St James” park.
They’ve also managed to keep 3 clean sheets, scored 7 goals, and conceded just 2 goals in those 5 games.
You will be happy to see this if they’re your team, wouldn’t you?
Current Form: Another point for the home team.
Since the beginning of the preseason, Eddie Howe’s men have won 5, drawn 1, and lost just 2 of the 8 games they’ve played.
It seems they just picked up from where they stopped last season.
If they can put up a good and determined fight with this form, they should be able to get, at least, a point here.
Do you have a contrary opinion?
While we wait for your response, let’s take a look at points favoring Pep Guardiola’s men
EPL (MANCHESTER CITY)
Current Form: This is a point you can barely find missing when vouching for the Cityzens.
Aside from their poor outing against Liverpool in the Community Shield which ended in a 3:1 loss, the Cityzens have been impressive since the beginning of the preseason just like the Magpies.
They’ve won the remaining 4 of their last 5 games, resuming from where they stopped last season.
With this form, you can expect Pep Guardiola’s men to put on a show against Eddie Howe’s impressive side
Head To Head: One more point for the team coming from the Blue side of Manchester.
The last 5 EPL meetings between these 2 sides have ended in victories for the Sky Blues.
They’ve also kept 4 clean sheets, scored a mind-blowing 20 goals, and conceded just 3 goals in these last 5 games.
I don’t think anyone needs to be told about how confident Pep Guardiola’s men will be when both sides clash on Saturday.
For me, even if Manchester City are unable to come out of St James’ Park with all 3 points, they should be able to leave with a point based on what we have before.
I am coming to this conclusion because I believe Newcastle United should be able to put up a fight as well.
And if the result favors Eddie Howe’s men, I definitely won’t be surprised either.
