Moving on to our 2nd pick for EPL Matchday 2 analysis.
EPL (MANCHESTER CITY VS AFC BOURNEMOUTH)
After a successful campaign against the Hammers at the London stadium, The Cityzens will now have to shift their attention to their next game which is against the Cherries.
Can the defending EPL champions make it past a newly promoted but motivated Bournemouth side?
Without having lots of thoughts, I am sure many of us would have pictured City getting a comfortable win.
However, let’s have a look at points favoring either side before making up our minds.
EPL (MANCHESTER CITY)
Home Advantage: Yes, this comes into play once more.
From last season, Pep Guardiola’s men are yet to drop a point at home in the EPL since their 2 all draw to Liverpool.
During this period, they’ve accumulated 12 points, scored 16 goals, and conceded only 3.
Judging from the above, it seems City might just feast at home again.
Do you have any contrary opinions about this?
Head To Head: Many will definitely be putting their money on City if they saw this point.
According to the 11vs11, Manchester City have never lost to Bournemouth in an official match(15 games, 13 wins, and 2 draws).
Yes, you saw that right. And as a matter of fact, they, City, are currently on 11 matches winning streak against the Cherries.
You can imagine the amount of confidence City will have going into this game, can’t you?
Let’s now turn our attention to Scott Parker’s men
EPL (AFC BOURNEMOUTH)
Impressive Matchday 1 Result: They should get some kudos for this
Many would have thought the Cherries will fall easily to Villa considering they are a newly promoted side.
Fortunately for them, the reverse was the case as they got a scintillating victory deserving of the resilient performance displayed by them.
City might have a difficult issue at hand if Scott Parker’s men decide to come to the Etihad stadium with this same determination.
Losing Streak: Well, I know you are surprised I have this as a point for the Cherries.
This could actually be a potent weapon for them, Bournemouth, if it is been used as a motivating factor.
Imagine a newly promoted side defeating the current EPL Champions, while at the same time, putting an end to their winless run against the same opponent.
The above will definitely make some huge headlines in England if it happens.
I believe the Cherries can pull this stunt considering they barely lost in the last 2 meetings between both sides
Do you believe they can as well?
Going with the points before us, picking City to come out victorious in this game shouldn’t be an issue.
However, I am very much open to seeing a twist in the plot as this is what makes Football tick.
Time to get your thoughts guys. Do you think Manchester City will carry the day, or do you believe we will get an upset from Bournemouth?
