AFCON 2021 FINAL PREVIEW: Senegal vs Egypt
It’s the final game of AFCON 2021 with Senegal and Egypt set to face each other for the Grand Prize.
51 games of drama and emotions, and now we are down to the last and most important game of all.
Really, it feels like all hell will be let loose tonight when both sides lock horns.
Let’s quickly remind us that Cameroon, defeated Burkina Faso yesterday to claim 3rd position.
Fair enough for the host nation, isn’t it?
Having nothing more to say, let’s proceed to our match preview.
AFCON 2021 (SENEGAL):
Unbeaten Run: There’s definitely no way we are overlooking this.
Aliou Cisse’s men are yet to suffer defeat in this competition, winning 4 and drawing 2 of the 6 games they’ve played.
Pretty impressive, isn’t it?
We can bet they will be looking to keep this record intact tonight, a huge performance booster in itself.
AFCON 2019 Final Defeat: It was certainly not the best of nights for Senegal on this particular day.
A night the Teranga Lions fell to the Desert Foxes of Algeria by a lone goal.
Going into today’s final, you can tell they will be going all out to correct this wrong.
And how else can they achieve the above if not only by defeating the Pharaohs of Egypt.
Turning a sad event into a propelling factor, do you think this can help them get a win tonight?
Let’s get your response via the comment section below.
Moving on to Carlos Queiroz’s men
AFCON 2021 (EGYPT):
Seeing Off “Competition Favorites”: Smiles, it seems the Pharaohs of Egypt have taken this task upon themselves.
Bar Nigeria whom they lost to in the first game. of their group stage, Carlos Queiroz’s men have defeated every other title contender they’ve faced.
Ivory Coast, Morocco, and host nation, Cameroon could do nothing to stop the Pharaohs from reaching this stage.
And as a matter of fact, the 3 teams mentioned above were on unbeaten runs before they faced Egypt.
Now we’ve got Senegal who are on an unbeaten run and also double as “competition favorite” take on this same Egyptian side.
Certainly, the Teranga Lions of Senegal will, by now, have an idea of what problem they are in.
7 Times AFCON Champions: we talked about this in our preview post on the game between Cameroon and Egypt.
Reiterating it here shouldn’t surprise us considering how much of an encouragement it could provide to the Pharaohs.
Without needing to think too much, we can all guess they will be looking to increase their record AFCON champions to 8.
CONCLUSION:
Considering the facts before us, backing Egypt to come out victorious at the end of today looks a safe bet.
However, I will prefer to enjoy both sides doing their thing and living up to the hype we all anticipate of them.
Over to you guys, which team do you think will come out victorious at the end of today?
